Bob Fisher is a founding trustee of the Pisces Foundation and serves on the Board of Directors of Gap Inc., where he chairs the Governance and Sustainability Committee. A business leader and philanthropist, he has long championed collaborative approaches to environmental conservation and strengthening communities.

At the Pisces Foundation, Bob has helped shape the Foundation’s vision and strategic direction, helping guide the Foundation’s work to improve the environment and support communities. He has served on Gap’s Board since 1990 and held a variety of operating leadership roles at the company from 1980 to 1999.

Today, Bob serves on the Executive Committee of Conservation International’s Board of Trustees, is Immediate Past Chair of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, serves on the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Downtown Development Corporation, and is a Board of Trustees Associate of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy. 

Earlier in his philanthropic leadership, Bob served for more than two decades on the Board of Trustees of the Natural Resources Defense Council, including as Vice Chair. In 2010, he co-founded the Water Foundation to advance sustainable water management throughout the American West. In 2009 and 2014, he was appointed by California governors to the Strategic Growth Council, which works to advance sustainable communities that promote equity, strengthen the economy, and protect the environment.

Bob earned a B.A. in English literature from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
