Connecting During a Challenging Time

We wanted to share the note that Pisces Foundation President David Beckman shared with our grantees yesterday, at this challenging time. We send our best wishes to all of our colleagues and partners, their families and teams.

Dear Partners,

We hope during this challenging time that you are well. Working collaboratively with you to pursue a world in which people and nature thrive together has always been our focus. This note is sent with this aspiration in mind.

As you take care of yourself, your families, and teams, and push your important work forward, we know that your work plans may be impacted by the unprecedented disruptions we are all facing. If needed, please don’t hesitate to contact us about any revisions to your proposals, requests for no-cost extensions, or other changes.

Our whole team is interested in better understanding the emergent needs that your organization and the environmental community are encountering. We’re huddling as a Foundation team and reaching out to other foundations, so please feel free to share your experiences with us. You can do so by:

We’re also focused on taking care of our Foundation team, which is currently working flexibly but with the same engagement and passion for our shared work as always. We won’t be traveling in the near future. But we’re always available via email and phone.

The COVID-19 pandemic is a reminder of the importance of community, our common bonds and experiences, our instrumental work—and of the need for partnership and resilience. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with you. Be well.

All my best,

David Beckman
President, Pisces Foundation
