José Aranda
Program Associate

José is a program associate at the Pisces Foundation, focusing on the Water Program.

Prior to joining Pisces, José worked as a researcher for the US Water Alliance’s Water Equity Taskforce, which works to build the organizational, policy, and partnership capacity of utilities, community organizations, and key stakeholders to develop equitable water management practices. José also served as the program manager at El Triunfo Conservation Fund, where he worked on the Chiapas Water Fund – the first Water Fund in Mexico.

Most recently, José worked as a photographer for the landscape architecture firm John Northmore Roberts & Associates. He also publishes articles in Mexico, the U.S. and Canada as a photojournalist focused on ecology, culture, art, travel, and nature conservation.

José has an M.S. in environmental management from the University of San Francisco and a B.A. in communications from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. In his free time, José enjoys spending time outside, swimming, and singing.
